A quick review of my achievements and discoveries (art related or not) for the quarter allows me to acknowledge my achievements, understand where I still need work, and remember some of the new and exciting things I may have seen or done outside of the studio.
This is not intended to be an exhaustively detailed examination of all that has passed, but more an easily digestible bullet point record.
Quarter 2 – 2021
We have had a pretty mild autumn this year which has been a nice change. Life is hectic in a nice way while being busy at work and running around with three kids playing sport.

Art Achievements
- Kept up my regular gouache portrait study every second Friday on my day off from my day job.
- Completed a book cover for great book just release from an upcoming new author (plug, plug…)

- Kept up my regular sketchbook practice in the mornings before my day job.
Live Performances
- Went to see Axe and the Ivory at the Wheatsheaf Hotel – great to see fantastic live music again.
Books & Podcasts
- Completed reading The State of the Art, by Iain M Banks and Atomic Habits by James Clear
- Began reading Excession, also by Iain M Banks – going to get through this series if it kills me I think
Movies & Television
- Watched the first couple of series of The Umbrella Academy which I loved.
- Saw A Quiet Place which was quite tense.
Looking forward to the next quarter as I have a few plans in the wings.
