PAINTINGS | LIGHTBULB SERIES
“What am I? Am I the bulb that carries the light, or am I the light of which the bulb is a vehicle?”
“If the body is a light bulb and it burns out does that mean there’s no more electricity?
The source of the energy remains. We can discard the body and go on. We are the source.”
– Joseph Campbell
Energy is everywhere. It makes up everything we know in the universe, including us. It can be neither created nor destroyed so all we have is all there’ll ever be. Only its form changes.
I’m intrigued by how this energy transitions between what we were before, what we are now, and what we will be when we are no longer. Is existence actually occurring the way we think?
With this series I look for answers, but often find more questions. My aim is for the audience to discover similar connection with the work – to seek their own questions and answers, but those born of their own thoughts and beliefs.
