This painting is based on an image I had saved in my “images to paint when I’m out of ideas but need something to practice painting” folder (working title).
I was in a mood where I wasn’t feeling particularly enamored to paint something poignant, and this one was chosen purely because it had a pretty strong contrast between light and dark.
As I was practicing value, it ticked the right box in that respect.
