I commute to my 9-5 job and spend anywhere between 25-50 minutes on the road each way, traffic dependent. After listening to the same radio station every day, it doesn’t take long to notice their limited playlist and the same songs being played every morning and evening gets real old real fast – this is of course magnified tenfold when it’s a song that irritates the hell out of you!

I turned to audio books after I realised I could listen to all the books I couldn’t find any spare moment to read and this dead time in the car each morning and evening suddenly transformed into the perfect opportunity to achieve something useful.

Once I knocked off the backlog of books I had, I was at a bit of a loss as to what to listen to next – but the info in the car thing, yeah, I was hooked.

I had never really considered podcasts before, but after dipping my toe in I discovered a fantastic resource of information out there just begging to be tapped.

Some of my favourtes include:

  • Artists Helping Artists with Leslie Saeta

Leslie Saeta discusses specific topics that address how to sell more art on-line, along with guest artists, gallerists, and others sharing their knowledge of the business side of art.

  • The Accidental Creative with Todd Henry

Todd Henry teaches people and teams to be prolific, brilliant, & healthy, and shares ideas and tools to help them thrive.

  • Impasto Logs with David Cheifetz

“Impasto Logs” is an in-depth exploration of representational oil painting with professional fine artist David Cheifetz. Through the personal lens of his approach and philosophy towards art, David provides insights, tips, and advice to other artists and students.

I’d be interested in finding out about any other podcasts out there that anyone can recommend, I’m a sponge for new and useful information.
