Inspired by the book on Robert Hannaford – The Natural Eye – and his appreciation for the practice of producing regular self portrait paintings, I thought it was high time I gave it a go myself.
I have completed a small number of self portraits in the past with charcoal but it was not something I’d yet attempted in acrylic.
I wanted to work with something that was also mentioned in the book, and that was a limited palette of only burnt sienna, ultramarine blue and white.
Happy with the overall result and it is definitely something that I will look to complete with some regularity.
