As a husband, father and grandfather, renowned local community member and close family friend to my wife and myself, AJ had a profound impact on many people’s lives. This portrait was created as a gift to his wife in memory of his passing two years on.
Using charcoal and white pencil on grey toned paper (something I’ve only recently tried experimenting with) my aim was to portray the essence of his strong character within this piece.
